National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has taken advantage of government’s maiden “Results Fair” to showcase its achievements.National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) officials from La District Office were on-site to register new members as well as assist the public to renew their membership.

NHIA Board Chair reaffirms NIA partnership|1/6/2020
Speaking at the end of Year Review Meeting in Accra, he indicated that the partnership which takes effect from this year (2020) is to enable users of the National Card have access to health care services at all NHIA credentialed facilities. He said the step followed the introduction of the Mobile Renewal Service which enables the Schemes active members to personally renew their membership on phones without visiting the District Offices.

NHIA wins legal battle against illegal Health Insurance operator|12/2/2019
An Accra Circuit Court has convicted Theophilus Damptey Ashong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oak Medicals Limited for operating a Private Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (PMHS) without license, contrary to Sections 56 and 63 of the National Health Insurance Act 2012, (Act 852).

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has stepped up efforts to achieve 100 percent coverage of all Ghanaian residents in tandem with attainment of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). To this end, the authority is collaborating with the National Identification Authority (NIA) to allow registered members to use the Ghana Card to access healthcare services under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)
