The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA, Deputy Chief Executive, Administration/Human Resources, Dr. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden(Mrs.) has urged practicing Pharmacists to constantly aim at achieving high standards.
She spoke at the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) 87TH Annual General Meeting held in the Western Regional capital, Takoradi.
Being an outstanding member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, she chaired the second day’s symposium, dubbed “Prioritizing Patient outcomes in Pharmacy Practice – Business in the community and Hospital Sector.’’
“This gathering stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication towards achieving excellence in the pharmacy profession. Let us foster understanding and collaboration with keys stakeholders in the health sector as a means of leaving a remarkable footprint in nation-building,” she stated.
The five-day event which was attended by over 1,000 Pharmacists and key stakeholders was on the theme, “The Pharmacist for National Development.”
Among high profile personalities at the mammoth gathering were, Deputy Minister for Health, Honorable Tina Naa Ayele, Ghana’s celebrated business mogul, Sir Sam Jonah, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Seth Amoama (Guest Speaker), President of Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Pharm Paul Odonko, National Insurance Authority (NHIA) Deputy Chief Executive, Administration/Human Resources, Dr. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden(Mrs.) and the Western Regional Minister, Honorable Okyere Darko.
The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) mounted a booth at the conference venue where staff educated people on the Scheme’s expanded Benefit Package, medicines list, the rights, and responsibilities of NHIS members, MyNHIS App, the Mobile Renewal Service short code *929#, illegal charges (Copayments), NHIS and Ghana cards linkage.
